COVID-19: What are we doing to keep you safe?

In collaboration with The Wellbeing Studio and At The Gym, KB Musculoskeletal Therapy has made a number of changes to keep you and us safe during this time. 

Changes for the client:

When booking:

  • Clients will be contacted prior to their session (via confirmation/ reminder emails) to asses their current health and risk asses for the face to face session. Any clients with symptoms of COVID-19, or who are self isolating due to contact with a person with COVID-19 symptoms will not be able to attend their session and will be rescheduled. 

  • Any clinically extremely vulnerable clients will be unable to attend the treatment room. This will be reconsidered again at another time. Please see for more information.

  • The booking form has been extended and when booking you will have to fill in more details than normal. If you register on the booking system then you won't have input these every time. 


Before appointment:

  • Arrive at time of appointment, no earlier or later - I will contact you when you can leave your car to enter the building

  • Everyone will sanitise their hands outside the building prior to ringing the doorbell or entering the building

  • After entering the building I will ask you to wash your hands

  • I will greet all clients at the front door and show them through the building and kindly ask to not touch unnecessary surface


During appointment:

  • Client must wear face mask/ face covering during entire appointment

  • We will make a conscious effort to use minimal equipment during the appointment to ensure optimal sanitisation after appointment

What will I be doing behind the scene?

  • I will follow the specific government guidelines, governing body and insurer advise for my profession and act accordingly at all times. 

  • I will sanitise my hands before entry and wash my hand with soap on entry and exit to TWS.

  • I will ensure I increase time between client sessions to allow for extra cleaning and no client overlap.

  • I will clean all surfaces that my clients have come in contact with after their session. This is to include chairs, doors, tables, doorbell, toilet, door handles.

  • I will ventilate the room more than normal and as necessary, in between my clients. 

  • I will clean all surfaces I have come in contact with prior to leaving TWS. This will include all tables, chairs, toilet, kitchen surfaces, light switches, door handles, heaters.

  • I will manage a contact COVID-19 scenario as suggested by government guidelines.

  • I understand that all soft furnishings have been removed from the therapy room to increase hygiene and safety. There will be no cushions, blankets, couch covers etc. Anything I bring into the room that comes into contact with clients will need to be disposed of safely and removed for washing by me, (the therapist).

  • I understand that the waiting room will not be used for ‘waiting’; all chairs, refreshments and free standing promotional material have been removed to prevent contamination. There will still be the opportunity to use the wall fixings for specific promotions which you can contact me (Sara) about.

  • If necessary I will provide and be responsible for the careful and safe disposal of all my own PPE

If you are currently in one of the below categories, then your appointment will have to be rescheduled until the risk of contracting COVID-19 is lowered.

Clinically Vulnerable is considered anyone who is:

  • are 70 or older

  • have a lung condition that's not severe (such as asthma, COPD, emphysema or bronchitis)

  • have heart disease (such as heart failure)

  • have diabetes

  • have chronic kidney disease

  • have liver disease (such as hepatitis)

  • have a condition affecting the brain or nerves (such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy)

  • have a condition that means they have a high risk of getting infections

  • are taking medicine that can affect the immune system (such as low doses of steroids)

  • are very obese (a BMI of 40 or above)

  • are pregnant – see advice about pregnancy and coronavirus

Clinically Extremely Vulnerable  is considered anyone with:

  • have had an organ transplant

  • are having chemotherapy or antibody treatment for cancer, including immunotherapy

  • are having an intense course of radiotherapy (radical radiotherapy) for lung cancer

  • are having targeted cancer treatments that can affect the immune system (such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors)

  • have blood or bone marrow cancer (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma)

  • have had a bone marrow or stem cell transplant in the past 6 months, or are still taking immunosuppressant medicine

  • have been told by a doctor they have a severe lung condition (such as cystic fibrosis, severe asthma or severe COPD)

  • have a condition that means they have a very high risk of getting infections (such as SCID or sickle cell)

  • are taking medicine that makes them much more likely to get infections (such as high doses of steroids or immunosuppressant medicine)

  • have a serious heart condition and are pregnant

Infection Control and Management 

Pre - Treatment Form/ Screening

Required document and if anything is flagged, appointment can be terminated and cost of appointment will not be refunded. Upon booking, clients are asked to confirm they have read this form and are aware they will have to fill this in on the day. If client makes me aware of a change in circumstance the morning of the appointment, the appointment can be rescheduled (minimum 12 hours prior).
